Lectors

Since the earliest days of the church the reading of the Scripture has been as essential part of worship. A lector is one who proclaims God's word to the assembled faith community. It is a ministry which is undertaken by men and women of good faith who are eager to serve their fellow parishioners.
A Lector is one who has a good speaking voice, confidence, poise, maturity, and a love of the liturgy. Anyone who feels that they have the gifts and commitment can become a Lector.
Lectors are typically called upon to serve once a month. Training is given to all new Lectors in a supportive small group setting.
